1. How to register a new server

As a Subsonic client application, Submariner can simultaneously be connected to multiple servers. To add a Subsonic server :

  1. Go to menu File > New Server
  2. Fill every fields with required information and press OK button
  3. Select your server in the proper section (SERVERS) to connect

NOTE: If you use a HTTPS connection, you need to trust the server certificate manually, for example using Safari (right-click on the server then choose "Open Home Page" menu). When your browser ask you to trust the server certificate, be sure that you trust it permanently.

2. How Submariner stream your music

Submariner uses QuickTime API to read server stream over HTTP network. This involves that the application is only able to play media related to native codec installed on your system.

3. How cache-streaming works

Cache streaming is a feature that automatically imports song you streamed from a server to your local library. This allows to reduce your bandwidth use next time you will play the same track, because it will played locally instead of remotely. This also has the advantage to regroup songs you liked, and to create a music library which reflects your tastes and discoveries.
